  • Maintained The Tribune’s Web site using a proprietary content management system; increased monthly unique visitors and page views; created special sections and content hubs.
  • Skills used: shooting and editing video; capturing audio; directing multimedia content; producing online story packages.
  • Used social media tools including Twitter and Facebook as reporting tools to help gain sources and distribute content.

Reporter (July 2006 – Present)

  • Coverage included the town of Los Osos, with one of the most expensive per-capita public works projects in the nation. Stories included clashes between the community’s government and regional and state regulatory agencies; court hearings throughout the agency’s Chapter 9 bankruptcy, the largest special district bankruptcy in state history.
  • First place, business writing, in the 2009 Associated Press California/Nevada Newswriting and Photo Contest for a series on the decline of the Morro Bay commercial fishing industry and its effects on the city’s economy.
